Adding Another Hoophouse

Continuing our saga of season extension we’re working on another 30 foot by 100 foot hoophouse. This will be our thrid. Each time we add another house it enables us to diversify our rotation schemes even more. Eventually we will always have a number of hoophouses out of veggie production and in a cover crop or fallow rotation. This will help immensely with soil fertility. And that’s number one to us: Good soil health.

What do you think of Eliot Coleman’s moveable hoop houses? Seems like that might be a good idea.

i think they’re great where there’s no wind. We have too much wind here to be able to anchor them effectively.
