MMMMMMM yummmmmm! This is some of what’s at market this week—- Greens! Melanie and I are huge greens fans. In tis hoophouse is Dino Kale, Red Russian Kale, White Russian Kale, and Rainbow Chard. Eat your greens!
Thankfully we can find solace in the comfort of a hoophouse. It was really cold and windy here today. I’ve come to accept that this is spring in Oregon- Summer temperatures followed by winter temperatrues, repeat.
That’s ok. Things always grow anyway. And by the end of May we’re swimming in food.
Here’s what we’ll have at market tomorrow:
- Arugula
- Baby Bok Choy
- Sprouting Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Carrots
- Chard
- Green Garlic
- Kale
- Leeks
- Onions, Red and Yellow
- Parsnips
- Rhubarb!!!! This is the first time we have Rhubarb since we planted it at the beginning of 2008
- Salad Mix
- Tatsoi
I hope you all have been enjoying the markets so far. I’m duly impressed with how many vendors and customers there have been this early in the season. It seems that we’re moving ever closer as a community to having a consistent local food source on a regular basis. I think this is really awesome. Let’s keep the trend going!
See you at market.

Beautiful greens. They look so good! I don’t think I’ve really deeply appreciated until recently how skilled you are at farming. Thanks for being mentors, friends and therapists!
thanks for the good words melissa. we love you peoples up the road
