What’s at Market? Week of March 29th

March 30th, 2009 Posted in What's @ Market ?

The list is somewhat similar to last week but different. That was my joke for the day.

Anyway…….

This week at market:

  • Salad Mix
  • Braising Mix
  • Mustard Greens
  • Loose Kale
  • Carrots! Yes the really sweet ones.
  • Parsnips! They’re sweet too.
  • Beets
  • Leeks
  • Potatoes
  • Red and Yellow Onions

We’ve been pretty busy this past week. We poured a 56 foot long concrete wall for our loading dock. We had a few tense moments during the pour- which turned out to be worrying for nothing- the pour went great! Now I’d like to find a graffiti artist to come paint a mural along the 56 foot by 4 foot span. Know anyone?

Veggie starts keep going out into the field on a regular basis. We’ve done pretty well so far squeezing into the windows of opportunity between rain storms. Our strawberry transplants are starting to leaf out. And there’s a ton of field work to complete in the next week. Our potatoes will be going in soon. And not too far off we’ll do our big onion transplant of the year. That’s just a regular ol’ party.
