What’s at Market? Week of May 16th
May 18th, 2010 Posted in General RandomnessRain continues. And beautiful sunny days. And some rain. With all this great sunny weather. You get the idea. Luckily we have plenty of food in the ground and the temperatures have warmed up enough that the produce is growing fast! The potatoes that were planted a few weeks back are just starting to send their sprouts up, the transplanted onions and shallots have set their roots to start growing, and some of our early garlic is getting very close to being done. In our hoophouse world, the cucumbers are getting their first trellising this week as well as the first round of tomatoes. Both of these veggies will grow like crazy now that the nights are staying much warmer. We're really excited as summer is quickly approaching. Oh and one more thing- I ate the first ripe strawberry yesterday. Let's hope this rain slows down a bit, so the berries can produce. Can't wait!
