Farming like there’s a tomorrow

Why we have a hard time competing with California Veggie Prices

This is how spinach is harvested. According to this article written 2 years back, this machine can harvest 20,000 pounds an hour. That’s pretty incredible. It’s hard to not want to take my harvest knife and throw it in the trash.

But I have to remind my cynical self that I can provide my customers with something these folks can’t- myself.

If there’s ever a problem, folks come talk to me. And when there’s compliments, people come to me. I think that’s really important in this day and age in our state of interconnected unconnectedness. Interconnected with each other, but not necessarily rooted anywhere.

So I think we’ll just keep growing on the scale we do. Although I do fancy figuring out how those machines work. I love that stuff.
